Background and method
Roots music, instruments from around the world
Nahuel Amaru is a musician, composer, researcher, luthier, and educator. His artistic pursuit stems from the intersection of roots music, traditional instruments from various cultures, and the sonic possibilities offered by contemporary technology.
Their work transcends the conventional stage to explore new forms of encounter between music, the body, nature, imagery, and perception. Through concerts, multisensory experiences, workshops, and retreats, they offer spaces for artistic exploration, self-discovery, and both individual and collective connection.
His musical universe incorporates instruments such as the sarangi, bansuri, native flutes, pre-Columbian instruments, the handpan, and various string and percussion instruments from around the world, alongside vocals, guitar, bass, synthesizers, and electronic experimentation. As a luthier, he also researches and builds instruments that are part of his creative exploration—many of which he uses in his concerts.
